45 Tube Comparisons

My concern is being able to purchase really excellent 45 tubes and the new production Emissions Labs 45 mesh and the Sophia 45 mesh are the two that I eventually found to be the best sounding tubes. Really good new old stock tubes are getting really expensive and typically are noisy and poor quality no matter what the price. One of my favorites, my 80 year old Raytheon 45 globes sounds superb but I don’t use it very often since I’m not going to find this tube at even sane prices in the future or dependable enough to spend that kind of money.Out of all the 45 tubes I tested (and I used many), these are my favorites and I’ll explain why below.
