The Ultimate Subwoofer
For Studio & Music Listening

M&K X10 Subwoofer
Two Active 10″ Subwoofer Drivers

The X Series subwoofers are the culmination of M&K Sounds 40 years experience in the design of superlative sub bass systems. Intended for use in the most demanding studio applications, they are equally at home wherever the finest music or home cinema is required.

The X10 uses dual 10 inch woofers in M&K Sounds classic push pull configuration. This design eliminates drive unit distortion and delivers 6db of additional output giving enhanced bass detail, articulation, authority and impact.

The X10 subwoofer has been certified and approved by the THX program – the industries most demanding independent quality control.

INTRODUCING THE DISTORTION KILLER

The M&K Sound X Series implements aluminum AC shorting rings in the magnet system and aluminum pole spacers above the pole piece. These devices make a significant contribution to the X Series subwoofers’ ability to render extraordinary fine dynamic bass detail with high precision at all levels. Meanwhile, the two drivers maintain full control and respond instantaneously to the incoming signal for unparalleled accuracy and authority in the bottom octaves. That makes the X-10 THX Dual 10″ Active Subwoofer one of the very best options for hearing audio the way it was meant to be heard — no more and no less.

Yes, this costs a bit but the results are unmatched. I’m not a dealer for M&K and appreciate their subwoofers so much that I’ve been willing to pay full retail for their subwoofers.

You can use this subwoofer as the lower support stand for the NX Studio DIY monitors that you build and place the NX Studio monitors on top. The NX Studio, X10 Subwoofer, and Neochrome Power Amp (for the NX Studios) is an incredible combination – 2nd to none. I don’t know of any other system that will allow better placement flexibility and allow you position this speaker combination close to walls or corners. Everything of really high quality requires pulling the combination out into your room 5-8 feet. These don’t.

You owe it to yourself to use something this good if you’re really serious about music production and listening. There really is no finer subwoofer monitor combination at any price – just bigger. That would be the X12 with two 12″ drivers. However, the two 10″ X10 subwoofer is plenty and big enough for the most demanding tastes. Beyond the X10 and X12 subwoofers and the NX Studio monitors, you will need to pull your speaker system way out into your room and have a really large room. Here, you can flank a desktop computer system and go right up against the walls and corners. Room acoustic treatment is still important but when you hear the open baffle treble the NX Studio monitors provides, you’ll have a difficult time going back to using a box speaker (active or passive) for either music production or passive listening.
