HARBETH SPEAKER STAND OPTIONS
All five Harbeth speaker models require a stand. There are numerous options available in the industry but the best looking and sounding commercial stands that I’ve used are the solid wood stands made by Resonant Woods in New Hampshire. These stands are the best looking in my opinion and sonically are the best compared to other commercial alternatives.

Resonant Woods Black Ash Linear II and Curve HL5+ Stands
My daughter lives in Boston and she has a fully loaded Vinnie Rossi LIO and a pair of Harbeth HL5+ speakers in the Tiger Ebony veneer finish. If you ever get a chance to see all of the Harbeth finishes (cherry, rosewood, eucalyptus, and tiger ebony) I’m sure you’ll agree with me that the tiger ebony is the nicest finish Harbeth provides. The rosewood could have been another good choice but its way too red (again in my opinion). I love the grain in rosewood, but because of the excess amount of red in the veneer that Harbeth uses, the rosewood finish doesn’t go really well with most decors. So be careful if that might be a finish you’re considering. The tiger ebony is dark enough that it will go with anything from super contemporary to the most traditional. It really is an elegant finish. The best commercial stand color to use with it is black. The best DIY stand finish is the Java finish made by General Finishes. This is a really dark coffee color and is more brown than black but almost looks black from a distance (particularly in low light).
My daughter was fortunate to be able to try out both the Resonant Woods Linear II stand and the Curve stand both in the black ash finish. She chose the Curve stands that cost more than twice that of the Linear II. My personal preference is for the Linear II. Both are excellent choices. I’m including a photo of both stands in her apartment (one used for each channel so you can see what they look like with the Tiger Ebony finish on the HL5+ speakers.
